 The
AIG Insurance School and the CPCU: Advancing Careers in Insurance

AIG and its Insurance School share a strong commitment to developing company and industry leaders - and their partnership with the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society underscores this commitment.

Since 1944, the CPCU Society has helped insurance industry professionals worldwide advance their careers with training, professional development programs and networking opportunities. Recognizing the value of CPCU programs, the
AIG Insurance School began offering in-house CPCU training three years ago, contributing greatly to the pool of 450 AIG insurance professionals worldwide who have attained CPCU designations and who now hold regional and national CPCU leadership roles.

August Visibility Spotlight Winner!

WE'RE "SPREADING THE WORD!"
August Visibility Spotlight Winner "Spreads the Word!" on Television
Floy Oliver Daugherty, CPCU, a senior underwriter with AIG Aviation in Atlanta, recently spread the word to thousands when she appeared on Georgia Public Television for a fundraising telethon. As president of the Atlanta Chapter, she was interviewed for several minutes. "I was able to talk about our chapter as a group of insurance professionals, dedicated to education and ethical practices. We have approximately 700 members who received the designation after several years of experience and the successful completion of exams. I was also able to mention upcoming events in the fall—our annual I-Day and our participation in the Heart Walk," she added. Read more in the August Visibility Spotlight. In recognition for her "Spread the Word!" efforts, Daugherty will receive a business card holder with the CPCU Society logo.

Speakers Bureau

Need a Speaker?

In keeping with the CPCU Society’s campaign to Spread the Word,  the Atlanta Chapter has created a Speakers Bureau. The purpose of the Speakers Bureau is to Spread our Message within the community as to the value of being a CPCU. As a part of that, we have eight (8) speeches available for use that are already prepared with complete guidelines and the necessary materials for the presentation. We are seeking volunteers to participate in the Speakers Bureau. In addition, we are also seeking opportunities for members of the Speakers Bureau to represent the Chapter at various civic organizations promoting the benefits of CPCU. The following topics are currently available:

(1) Insurance Fraud                                     (5) Protecting your home

(2) Workers Compensation                        (6) Small Business Insurance
(3) Why become a CPCU?                           (7) Careers in Insurance
(4) Ethics, Profits &Prosperity                   (8) Auto Insurance

If anyone has any information regarding possible opportunities, contact Tony Nix, State Farm Insurance Company, Chairman of the Public Relations Committee, (770) 460-4967, or e-mail Tony Nix.
