GPB Volunteer Opportunity!

We have been given an opportunity to volunteer for Georgia Public Broadcasting on Thursday, March 4th from 7:30 to 11:00 PM.   This is always a lot of fun, so come join us and bring your significant other.  Volunteers will receive a catered meal provided by Carole Parks Catering Company, free parking and training.

State of Georgia Insurance Commissioner CANDIDATE  Round Table Discussion
 
When:  Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Time: 12:00PM (check-in begins at 11:30 and the meeting starts promptly at 12:00 and lasts until 1:00)
Place: Villa Christina – Atlanta, GA
 
Round Table Discussion Participants include the following Candidates:
 
Seth Harp*, Ralph Hudgens*, Tom Knox*, Stephen Northington, Gerry Purcell, Mary Squires and Maria Sheffield
*indicates candidate will be participating pending that the Senate is not in session

2010/2011 Atlanta Chapter CPCU College Scholarship

The Atlanta CPCU College Scholarship Foundation will provide two, $1000, awards to the children of active Atlanta Chapter members. Recipients will be chosen by an independent selection committee based on GPA, Extracurricular activities and a short essay on an assigned topic.  Each award is to assist with College expenses and the recipients will be asked to provide proof of enrollment as a full time student in a four year college or university.  The applicant can be an incoming freshman or a returning student.
  
An active Chapter member is defined as dues paid in full for the current year.
 
Completed Applications for the 20010/2011 school year are due no later than 4-18-10, and should be emailed to Larry Long, CPCU
.  The recipients will be announced by 5-1-10 and presented at the 5-11-10 Chapter Meeting at Villa Christina.
 
Essay Topic:
What can we do as individual citizens to encourage bi-partisan cooperation in Congress and the White House to help solve America’s daunting problems? The essay should be at least 100 words but no more than 300.
