President’s CPCU Scholarship Program

Each year, the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters/Insurance Institute of America (Institutes) proudly offers 100 scholarships for the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU® ) designation program. These students are nominated by the President or CEO of their organization based on their outstanding performance. The President's CPCU Scholarship will cover the costs of CPCU textbooks, course guides, SMART Study Aids (which include flash cards, review notes, and online practice exams), and the national exam—an estimated value of $3,800 per scholarship

		Congratulations to Atlanta's very own, Rodney Wilson, for joining the 2011 New Designee Task Force of the CPCU Society. The charge of the 2011 New Designee Task Force is : "To integrate and assimilate the 2011 class of new CPCU designees into the CPCU Society at both the local Chapter and Society levels as measured by attendance at the 2011 Society Annual Meeting and Seminars in Las Vegas, becoming engaged in the local chapter, and by helping staff convert new designees from complimentary membership to to paid Society membership in excess of the budget of 72%."

The Atlanta Chapter wins the Gold Level Circle of Excellence Again!

The Atlanta Chapter has qualified for the 2010-2011 CPCU Society Circle of Excellence for the 11th year in a row!  The chapter has achieved the Gold level of recognition in this comprehensive program.

The Atlanta Chapter was recognized at the Annual Meeting and Seminars in Las Vegas in a special Circle of Excellence display in the registration area and during the Circle of Excellence Recognition Luncheon.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Recognition - Don't Forget To File Before Your Expiration Date!

When we become CPCUs, one of the pledges we make is to continue our individual professional development.

AICPCU and the Society help us to remember that pledge by asking us every two years to submit our CPD qualifying activities to receive CPD Recognition.

To qualify for CPD status, you must earn 60 points every two years. Points are awarded for a variety of activities—passing exams or courses, teaching, writing, conducting research, serving in industry organizations, serving as graders or on IIA/AICPCU Exam Review Committees, attending chapter meetings, CPCU Society Center for Leadership courses, workshops, and more. The CPD application lists a wide variety of activities with corresponding point values.

To learn more about the CPD Recognition, find out your expiration date, download the form, or complete it on line, sign in to the CPCU Society website and select "Chapter" then look in the menu to the left for "CPD Award for Excellence." Click here to get started.

By qualifying, you will not only earn well deserved personal recognition, but recognition for the Atlanta chapter as well.
